About Me
I’m Scott McEvoy: a writer, designer, programmer, and lawyer.
I work at Carnegie Mellon University’s tech transfer office, where for the past eight years I’ve managed the IP portfolios for ECE, CyLab, the Software Engineering Institute, and the Robotics Institute.1
I give talks about IP law and technology, mostly AI and robotics. Along the way I’ve practiced IP law, run a startup incubator, and had a startup of my own.
I’m currently developing Leona, a smart and private AI harness.
I have a degree in economics and political science from the University of Pittsburgh, a law degree from Wake Forest, and did my graduate work in ECE at Duke, focused on programming, semiconductors, and telecommunications.

This is my personal website. It has nothing to do with my work at Carnegie Mellon, and nothing here speaks for the university.
